Dear Thulasi,Apologies for getting back to you late. As a counseling psychologist, I would suggest focusing on helping your son find a sense of purpose and meaning in life. Recovery from a mental health condition like schizophrenia is a significant achievement, but it's common for individuals to face a period of adjustment afterward. Encourage him to explore his interests and passions, even if they seem small at first. It might involve volunteering, taking up a hobby, or engaging in social activities that align with his abilities and interests. Additionally, consider involving a therapist or counselor who specializes in post-recovery support to help him navigate this transition and identify his personal goals and aspirations. Building a sense of purpose can provide long-term motivation and a source of fulfillment, which will be essential for his well-being, especially when facing the future without the direct support of his parents.Kind regards

Hi, I believe he is on medication thats going to be continued for life. These symptoms look like one of the side effects of the medication. We have to understand that in such cases, recovery in itself is a big achievement and comparing his life with others outside is only going to make us feel stressed. We will have to figure out the future of his life according to his capacity, moods, and the newly formed personality (current personality). We will have to see what works for him now according to his level of functioning.
