If he is rude with and mistreating you then it's a red flag girl, maintain a healthy tolerance limit for rude behaviour and any mistreatment . See understanding and trust is a mutual thing, you can't expect him to be understanding when you clearly being a brat and not understanding his perspective, similarly he can't expect you to trust him when he clearly not doing anything to earn it. For your studies, ruining your future for anyone is not worth it because ultimately you don't whether he is going to stay or leave, only your studies and hardwork will help you to be in better place in future. Your situation seems tough you better confront him and observe his reaction, if he fails makes you feel secure then he is not worth it . A guy who can't even make his girl feel secure then you deserve better girl.
